March already... where did February go?

My goodness where did this last month go?  It seems like it literally flew by me.  A month since I posted on here.  Wow, I was hoping to be more diligent about posting.  Oh well, there is always this month to try! 

February was a busy month for our household.  The boys have been very active with their wrestling.  That takes up a couple nights every week.  We just went to their first tournament this last Sunday.  We missed church to go (we were very sad to do that, but had prayed and decided to go ahead and do it once).  Rylee and Danny had so much fun.  Both did a fantastic job.  Danny placed first in his weight class, Rylee second in his weight class.  Great job for their first tournament.  It was a chaotic, crazy day.  But a lot of fun!
What else...  my van has been out of commission the entire month basically.  So the boys and I have been glued to the house.  Which hasn't been too bad.  We will have the van back in a couple more weeks.  Praise God, with a rebuilt motor and transmission!  My Gramz is here visiting from Seatlle.  We had a wonderful time last night visiting her and my Uncle Ron/Aunt Laney for dinner at their house.  It was so nice to see her. 

Brandon has been very busy with work this last month.  Between his regular job and then some side jobs.  The Lord has really blessed us this winter.  This is our first winter where we haven't wondered what job will he have next.  So praise Jesus!!

Homeschooling is going well.  Rylee is flying along with reading.  It's nice to see him now grab his book and curl up in the chair or on the couch and just read for pleasure.  Brings a smile to my heart and face every time.  Danny is also on the road to reading!  woo hoo!  He is reading his pathways readers book First Steps and is gaining confidence every day.  We are all looking forward to spring coming though.  So we can get outdoors more for nature studies and just more play time!  I can't believe that we are over half way through our school year already!  I'm already starting to think about preparing portfolios.... 

What also comes with spring?  Gardening!  I've already cleared the areas in my livingroom in front of the windows for starting seeds.  I'm very anxious to get going.  We are going to do raised beds for the garden this year.  Any suggestions or advice on that would be appreciated! 

Oh and the other great news is that we are getting chickens!  A wonderful friend is giving us 8 laying hens!  Brandon and I just need to get the chicken coop/pen built for then asap.  Then go and pick them up.  They are already full grown and laying eggs.  The boys are very excited for this.  I'm excited too, and hoping it will help to get me over my fear of birds a little! 

Well there's the update for now!  As I said at first I hope to be more diligent about posting this month!  But no promises!
